We are building, evolving, and refining our UX research process. You will work with within a talented multi-disciplinary environment as a hands-on leader to drive for user-centered innovation for our SaaS based products and solutions. Our user experience team has over 50 passionate user experience professionals with experience in User Research, Product Design, Usability testing, and Accessibility compliance. What you will be doing?

As an Individual Contributor in BYX Research team, you will collaborate with members of a cross-functional development team to improve the user experience for BY products and applications. As a hands-on UX research lead in the team you will steer UX projects through full process, from understanding our users and their needs, to testing concepts and prototypes, through launch and monitoring solutions in the market. You will follow a user-centered design approach and work collaboratively to research, design, and validate innovative solutions to complex problems.

The Contribution to research team:

  • Plans, prioritizes, and coordinates user requirements analysis, task analysis, conceptual modeling, information architecture design, interaction design, and usability testing
  • Excel at defining user research methods to use to answer questions about users and validate design decisions by gathering data needed for each project, based on product goals, and business/technical constraints
  • Proficient in creating screeners, research plans, survey questionnaires, developing stimulus for user surveys, and conducting co-creative workshops in-person and remotely without oversight.
  • Lead, conduct and document qualitative user requirements, and pain points through application of right research tool from wide range of methodologies.
  • Lead the analysis of the research findings, synthesizing the results of gathered research into meaningful and actionable design insights and innovative concepts.
  • Execute a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods such as, but not limited to, user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and card-sorting
  • Produce, either independently or in collaboration with others, a wide variety of supporting materials, including user requirements specifications, personas, storyboards, scenarios, flow-charts, design-prototypes, customer journey maps as well as design specifications for product design activities.
  • Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure that design specifications are implemented.
  • Participate as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes other designers, project management, business and brand strategists, and hardware and software developers.
  • Contribute to requirements and collaborate on UX Research documentation.
  • Oversee UX research projects and coach UX team members on-the-job.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Behavioral science, Social Science a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of work experience in an applied research setting, and (Physical or Digital) product research and development with a multidisciplinary team (Visual, Interaction, ID, Tech Engineer, etc.)
  • Passion about discovering great insights and define opportunity/innovation spaces.
  • Excellent communication skills, presentation skills and organization skills. Must be able to work both as an effective team player and an individual contributor.
  • Expertise in variety of Qualitative and Quantitative research methodologies is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong both Qualitative and Quantitative research skills; solid analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
  • Good understanding of client management and project management. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a default consulting process that requires service mentality, willingness to learn and commitment to deliver.
  • Working knowledge of local and global design research markets. Ability to apply design thinking in data gathering and analysis/synthesis activities.
  • Excellent working knowledge of statistics and the principles of experiment design.
  • Working knowledge of at least one of the research tools such as Dovetail, UserZoom, Morae, etc.
  • Experience in designing enterprise-scale software solutions in supply chain industry or related industry is a plus
  • Experience with data-centric analytical or intelligent applications is a plus
  • Knowledge of programming languages (Python, C++, R, or JS) or GitHUb is a plus

Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in HCI, Industrial Design, Graphics Art, User Experience, Human Factors, or equal / relevant industrial experience
  • 5+ years of job experience in designing interactive software applications.
  • Experience in applying design methods as needed to deliver high quality human-centric product experience
  • Experience in using UI prototyping tools (e.g Figma, Sketch) to create wireframes

The salary range for this position $114,000 - $140,000

*This role is on-site in our Dallas office

The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
