About the Job

Overview

This position provides primary support to both the VA Longitudinal Undergraduate Medical Education (VALUE) clerkship and Fairview Longitudinal Integrated Interdisciplinary Clerkship (FLIIC) specifically and all longitudinal integrated clerkships (LICs) at the University of Minnesota Medical School more broadly. The VALUE/FLIIC Coordinator/All LIC Coordinator has a dual reporting relationship to the VALUE and FLIIC Clerkship Directors and to the Manager of Clinical Education

Duties/Responsibilities

80%: VALUE/FLIIC Coordination

  • Provides primary organizational support to VALUE and FLIIC directors and site directors.
  • Coordinate and lead organization of meetings between leadership.
  • Leverage work done by other LICs and the LIC coordinator network.
  • Coordinate LIC didactic sessions and the longitudinal Leadership Seminar.
  • Track participation for VALUE and FLIIC Clerkships
  • Provide organizational support to VALUE and FLIIC students
  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain students' schedules and meetings. Requires working with schedules among several groups of providers - inpatient, outpatient, and private practice.
  • Schedule clerkship prerequisites, shelf exams, etc for VALUE and FLIIC students in coordination with Clerkship Coordinators.
  • Advise students regarding policies and procedures to meet clerkship requirements.
  • Serve as an intermediary and the initial point of contact between the VALUE and FLIIC programs and the University of Minnesota Medical school.
  • Schedule and proctor exams for VALUE and FLIIC when applicable
  • Develop and maintain the VALUE and FLIIC Canvas site ensuring the most up-to-date information is available to students, leadership, and potential students.
  • Assist stakeholders with organizing, analyzing, and presenting data from LIC student studies at a local and national level

20%: Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship (LIC) Coordination

  • Plan and lead monthly LIC coordinators meeting - create agenda content and document
  • Plan and lead yearly core clerkship and LIC combined meeting to discuss changes to clerkships in the upcoming year
  • Manage the calendar, timelines, and application process for LICs
  • Responsible for ensuring all LIC website information is current
  • Manage student application workflow and LIC placements Serve as main point of contact for requests for data/information about the LICs

Work Arrangements

This position requires work flexibility, at various work sites:

  • University of Minnesota Medical School Twin Cities Campus
  • FLIIC sites (M Health Fairview hospitals and clinics in Eagan and Burnsville)
  • Minneapolis VA Medical Center

Starting salary of $55,000

Qualifications

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree plus at least two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least six years.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills/experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Zoom, and Google Suite.

Experience with Project Management

  • Interest in working with an interdisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarization with Epic is an advantage.
