Job Brief

Manage the plant Reliability Team and provide leadership for the risk and reliability program, planned/preventative maintenance program, and root cause failure analysis/plant troubleshooting for the Plant.

*This position has the opportunity to work a 9 / 80 schedule (every other Friday off)*

What You'll Do

As the Engineering and Reliability Manager, you will manage the plant Reliability Team and provide leadership for the risk and reliability program, planned/preventative maintenance program, and root cause failure analysis/plant troubleshooting for the Plant. You will ensure predictably reliable plants by effective stewardship of the reliability strategy and by identifying and mitigating operational risks. Other duties will include:

  • Ensure availability of and compliance with strong, effective, robust reliability processes & systems and engineering standards.
  • Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.
  • Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives and ensures participation from all areas of responsibility
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations
  • Influential leadership of plant reliability
  • Stewardship of the reliability strategy
  • Implement the reliability improvement plan
  • Evaluate & influence organization structure, resourcing & accountabilities
  • Improved Plant Uptime, by: Championing sustained reliability, active strategic influence of operational group and active networking amongst plant & reliability personnel
  • Reduced Risk Profile by active ownership of the reliability risk management system and provision of specialist technical support
  • Availability of & compliance with strong, effective, robust reliability processes & systems, by strategic mapping of critical reliability processes Building a structure of ownership of these critical reliability processes
  • Availability of & compliance with strong, effective, robust engineering standards, by:
  • Developing & communicating appropriate engineering standards
  • Building a structure of ownership of these engineering standards

What We're Looking For:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
  • 15+ years of experience in maintenance and/or engineering of a Petro-Chemical manufacturing plant, power generation or similar heavy industry environment.
  • 5+ years leadership experience leading either a reliability team or managing a manufacturing facility.
  • Technically competent with respect to the management of one or more of the following:
    • Pressure equipment
    • Rotating equipment
    • Instrument/Electrical systems
  • Knowledge of static plant equipment and good knowledge of materials, failure mechanisms, fabrication and repair processes and procedures
  • Familiarity with Safety Management Systems and Quality Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Excellence models, systems and processes relating to asset capability and reliability.
  • Familiarity with Turnaround management systems.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite. SAP experience preferred.
  • Must be willing and eligible to obtain a TWIC Card
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
