For this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Safety Compliance - Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations, as well as company safety policies and procedures.
  • Training and Mentoring - Provide training and mentoring to employees on safety protocols, procedures, and best practices, emphasizing the importance of incident prevention and risk mitigation.
  • Incident Management - Utilize incidents as teaching moments to reinforce safety awareness and promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Collaborative Approach - Collaborate closely with project teams, clients, General Contractors, other trades, and other stakeholders to identify safety hazards and implement effective control measures.
  • Regulatory Compliance - Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all relevant OSHA regulations and standards, ensuring full compliance and timely updates to safety protocols as necessary.
  • Certification Management - Manage certifications for fall protection, scaffolds, and scissor lifts, ensuring that all relevant personnel are properly trained and certified.
  • Communication and Documentation - Communicate safety requirements and expectations clearly and effectively to all team members, and maintain accurate records of safety training and incidents.
  • Problem Solving - Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of safety issues and implement proactive solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Physical Requirements - Be able to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8-10 hours per day, while actively monitoring and addressing safety concerns on construction sites.
  • And other duties as assigned by your manager.

Additional Qualifications that will make you successful in the role:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or related field preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in construction safety, with a strong understanding of OSHA regulations and standards.
  • OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, and EM-385 certifications required.
  • Familiarity with acoustical ceiling and drywall is a plus.
  • Willingness to obtain certifications in fall protection, scaffolds, and scissor lifts.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to use common sense and apply critical thinking in challenging situations.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish a must.
