Job Description:

Provides receptionist and clerical support in preparing, coordinating and compiling patient records, answering phones, and scheduling appointments.

As a Self-Pay Collections Specialist you need to know how to:
  • Maintain contact with our patient population to resolve outstanding account balances
  • Reduce delinquency for assigned accounts
  • Arrange payment schedule, adjust insurances for billing purposes and/or request alternative methods of payment/charity funding
  • Perform high volume inbound and outbound phone calls for collections
  • Research accounts receivable issues as required or directed
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Promote a patient-centric approach to working medical collections
  • Manage accounts receivable balances for hospital billing by reducing the AR to cash and processes surrounding AR
  • Monitor and maintain a high level of productivity and quality of work to achieve monthly self-pay collection goals

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
  • Commitment to excellent customer service, required
  • Ability to both work independently and as an integral part of team, required
  • Knowledge of billing and collection processes, preferred
  • Knowledge of payment assistance and charity programs, preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual; Spanish speaking

Physical Requirements:

Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.- and -Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.- and -See and read computer monitors and documents.- and -Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.- and -May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
