Responsible for company's product offering in a lubricant's and specialty product area (e.g., Base Oils, Process Oils, Waxes or Aromatic Extracts). Develops products to meet customer requirements, performs lab testing and develops laboratory data to promote products, assists customer's with technical issues related to the use of oils and eliminates products when obsolete. May direct or lead the work of others from time-to-time.

A minimum of 10 years of related job experience required.
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymers or related field is required.
Advanced knowledge of assigned technical applications in the rubber and polymer industries and laboratory equipment and ability to apply this knowledge. Familiarity with a broad range of end-use applications in the rubber and polymer areas. Strong skills in leadership; the ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal; advanced reading and writing skills; the ability to perform complex mathematical calculations; planning; thorough; persistent; team work; decision making; judgment consistent with the overall business strategy; self directed and problem solving. Ability to utilize laboratory testing equipment and formulate products to meet a wide range of uses and specifications.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Knowledge of the manufacturing process and process engineering of lubricant and/or oil products is preferred. Specific Knowledge of Process oil applications and Specialty product development is preferred. Specific knowledge of one or more of the following; Compounding of Polymer and Rubber,for industrial and Tire applications, as well as plant and processing equipment experience. . The ability to translate this knowledge to other end use markets such as Asphalt, Agriculture and Chemical processing. Fluency in one or more foreign languages (e.g. Spanish, German, French, and Mandarin Chinese) is preferred.
May supervise up to four employees as assigned or on a project by project basis.
Office and laboratory based with up to 25% travel by air and land. Infrequent outdoor duties under humid conditions, at both below grade and elevated positions. Refinery based, industrial environment, including, but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, and tanks. Subject to varying road and weather conditions.
