Rimkus is looking for a FIRE INVESTIGATOR to work in the Omaha, NE area.
Overview
Studies, assesses, and determines the origin and cause of fires and explosions in residences, commercial/industrial dwellings, vehicles, heavy equipment, marine equipment, and other property. Analyzes fire debris and burn patterns to determine a fire's origin and cause. Conducts fraud analyses for possible arson-related losses. Prepares detailed written reports of findings that illustrate the conclusions and opinions of the investigation. Works under general supervision, exercising initiative and independent judgment in the performance of assigned tasks.
Essential Job Functions
We are currently seeking a full-time Fire Investigator to join our team of forensic experts whose principal duties will consist of determining the origin and cause of fires involving a myriad of incidents including residential, commercial structure, vehicle, and marine fires. Gathering photographic and physical evidence. Conducting investigations to document onsite conditions and overseeing field-testing. This includes scene photography, interviewing witnesses, and evidence/data gathering. Prepare oral and written reports that document causes of fire or explosion incidents. Preparing and giving depositions and expert testimony.

Employee is regularly required to sit, stand for long periods, walk, talk, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, hear and drive a motor vehicle to client sites or job sites. Employee is frequently required to carry tools, evidence, and other items (up to 50 pounds or more). Employee must be able to dig out fire scenes and move evidence to secure storage facilities. As well, he/she must comply with all aspects of Rimkus Respiratory policy (PPE and other equipment use as needed). Employee is required to perform routine site inspections, which require physical strength and stamina to perform required tasks including but not limited to shoveling of fire debris, moving heavy furniture or other items, climbing ladders, lifting, and taking possession of fire-damage property.
In general, the employee will be required to routinely travel throughout the District and Region and periodically across the country to meet the needs of the business, investigate sites and perform assignments. Such travel may also be required to attend client meetings, assignment related meetings, training sessions, marketing events, trade shows, sponsored events, conferences,
